Georgian Alliance for Patient Safety has Won the First Prize

HEPS 2008 International Conference
The international conference the Healthcare Systems, Ergonomics and Patient Safety 2008 was held in Strasbourg on June 25-28, 2008. The conference was organized, endorsed and supported by the International Ergonomics Association and endorsed by European Commission, European Parliament, Haute Autoritй de Sante, and Istituto Superiore di Sanitа. Bridging the knowledge in human factor and ergonomics with quality in healthcare planning was the key issue of this conference. The participants expressed willingness to promote learning and reporting culture among hospital workers (physicians, nurses, technicians, administrators, management staff clinical risk and patient safety managers). This is the turning point for the success of clinical risk management plans for enhancing patient safety.
Two delegates from the Georgian Alliance for Patient Safety participated in the conference. Maka Danelia had a presentation “unexpected experience of a physician patient” as a patient advocate and George Gegelashvili exhibited the poster presentation “national implementation of the international patient safety solutions”. In addition during the plenary session poster authors had 1 minute to give a preview presentation of their work. The 3 most voted posters were awarded. All registered participants could contribute with their vote by filling in the form. 80 posters were presented at the conference. The poster presentation of Georgian Alliance has one the first award.
