Mission Statement
Today, we define our mission as:
To bring about substantial improvement in the quality of healthcare in collaboration with professionals, executives and patients.
There are four core activities:
- innovation (of strategies, models, methods, tools and of the way health care is provided)
- implementation of existing knowledge and dissemination of best practices
- transfer of strategies, instruments and spread of results
- rising awareness and agenda setting.

10 workgroups, 4 master classes, regular column in bi-monthly journal, website, prizes for quality report and quality improvement research.
Links with other organisations
In the Netherlands we maintain close working relations with all relevant parties in the health care system, with most of the organizations working on improvement of patient care, and with nearly all health care organizations. In addition, our organization maintains a considerable international network working together with the World Health Organization, the World Bank, the European Commission, European Foundation for Quality Management and with the European Society for Quality in Healthcare. We have an excellent relationship with the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (Boston, USA), and have provided help and advice on quality of care to a number of foreign governments and organizations.
