IQA Health and Social Care is established to bring together individuals, whatever their current profession or role, and organisations who have an interest in continuously improving the quality of health and social care in the United Kingdom and in furthering knowledge related to the subject of quality in health and social care. The group aims to promote measurable and continuous improvement in the quality of health and social care for the benefit of the public.

1987

Health version of Membership and Fellowship of IQA (MIQA and FIQA), a competency based, independently assessed accreditation of quality skills.
Regular updates of newsletter. Events (usually seminars). Close links with ESQH London office. Web-based communication (e.g.message board etc.) in development. Twinning project with Irish Society for Quality and Safety underway.

About 50 members so far since relaunch in Oct.2002 but major product launch and membership drive due at NICE conference, Birmingham December 4/5.Organisation has no paid employees but has infrastructure support (marketting, membership administration, IT support) from parent organisation IQA.
