International course on Risk Management and Patient Safety Improvement

Medical Diagnostic Centre (Lithuania) participates in an international patient safety course

Since April of this year the employees of Medical Diagnostic Centre (Lithuania), representing the company's administration and medical staff, have participated in a three-month distance-learning international courses "Risk Management and Patient Safety Improvement".

The patient’s injury in health care institutions, timely undiagnosed diseases, errors in medicine - it is today’s current issues in all European countries. Regardless of the country, the growth trend is visible.

Patient Safety - management of undesirable events - relevance of the problem has given the basis to identify the safety of the patients as a separate process. This problem is spared a lot of attention recently. Patient safety management includes all activities processes and structures of health care institutions, doctors, nurses and other staff.

Professionals of Medical Diagnostic Centre participate in risk management and patient safety training courses to master the theoretical framework and the latest information in this field. All the theoretical knowledge is gained by doing practical tasks. In future, under adequate conditions, acquired skills and knowledge would be used and adapted to ensure patient safety and risk prevention.

Participation in the international project of training of medical professionals of Medical Diagnostic Centre will help to improve health care quality and reduce the risk to damage the patient during medical care services.

The Spanish Health and Consumer Affairs Ministry carries out the project.
Participation in the project was initiated by the State Health Care Accreditation Agency under the Ministry of Health of the Republic Lithuania.
