I am Director of the Quality Management and Performance Measurement Research unit at Sheffield Hallam University which specialises in health and public services. I am author of the book Delivering Excellence in Health and Social Care and a Director of South Yorkshire Excellence. I am a member of the EFQM Health Community of Practice. The Faculty is recognised as a Centre for Excellence by the Institute for Quality Assurance and runs a distance learning MSc in Total Quality Management and Organisational Excellence, which includes a specific health and social care route.

My research and consultancy focus on the following:

The Public Sector Scorecard - a version of the balanced scorecard designed for the public and voluntary sectors

Defining Performance Measurement 'Evaluating how well organisations are managed and the value they deliver for customers and other stakeholders'

Using the EFQM model, and the Public Sector Scorecard, across organisational boundaries in health and public services.
